STUDIO & BOOKING POLICIES
A little housekeeping before we make something beautiful.
At Venom & Bloom, we believe getting tattooed should feel exciting, comfortable, safe, and personal. Our Asheville tattoo studio is built around exceptional artistry, thoughtful client experiences, and mutual respect.
These policies help protect our artists’ time, maintain a professional environment, and ensure every client receives the attention their tattoo deserves.
By scheduling an appointment and submitting a deposit, you acknowledge and agree to the applicable Venom & Bloom studio and artist policies.
REQUESTING A TATTOO & BOOKING
All new tattoo appointments at Venom & Bloom begin with our Request a Tattoo form, conveniently accessible throughout our website.
The form allows you to share your tattoo idea, preferred style, placement, approximate size, reference images, scheduling preferences, and preferred artist.
You may select Shana Irish, Raven Poston, or choose No Preference if you’d like us to match you with the artist best suited for your project.
Once your request is submitted, the appropriate artist will review your information and contact you directly by email or text to discuss your tattoo, answer questions, provide pricing information, and assist with scheduling.
Submitting a tattoo request does not guarantee acceptance, availability, or an appointment.
Your appointment is only confirmed once your artist has approved the project, agreed upon an appointment date, and received the required deposit.
DEPOSITS
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure most tattoo appointments.
Our current artist deposit amounts are:
Shana Irish: $150
Raven Poston: $100
Once your artist has reviewed your tattoo request and assisted with scheduling, they will provide a secure payment link for your deposit.
In some cases, your artist may also authorize deposit payment through Zelle or Venmo.
Please only submit deposits using payment instructions provided directly by your artist.
Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo unless otherwise stated by your artist.
Deposits are non-refundable and compensate your artist for reserving appointment time, consultation, communication, administrative work, and preparation or design work completed before your appointment.
Submitting a Request a Tattoo form does not require immediate payment. Your artist will provide deposit instructions after reviewing your project and discussing scheduling.
RESCHEDULING
We understand that life happens.
If you need to reschedule, please contact your artist directly by email or text at least 48 hours before your appointment whenever possible.
With adequate notice, your deposit may be transferred to a new appointment date according to your artist’s individual rescheduling policy.
Repeated rescheduling may require a new deposit.
Appointments rescheduled with insufficient notice may result in forfeiture of the original deposit, and a new deposit may be required to secure another appointment.
CANCELLATIONS
All tattoo deposits are non-refundable.
If you choose to cancel your appointment, your deposit will not be refunded.
If you decide to book another appointment in the future, a new deposit may be required.
Please communicate cancellations directly with your artist rather than submitting another tattoo request.
NO-SHOWS
Clients who fail to arrive for their scheduled appointment without notifying their artist will forfeit their deposit.
A new deposit will be required before another appointment can be scheduled.
Repeated no-shows may result in Venom & Bloom declining future appointments.
Please don’t ghost your tattoo artist. We have abandonment issues too.
LATE ARRIVALS
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
If you’re running late, contact your artist directly as soon as possible.
Significant lateness may shorten your tattoo session or require rescheduling, depending on your artist’s availability.
If there is insufficient time to safely complete the scheduled work, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit required.
DESIGN CHANGES
Your tattoo appointment is scheduled based on the concept, approximate size, placement, style, and scope provided through your Request a Tattoo form and subsequent communication with your artist.
Reasonable design adjustments can typically be discussed during your appointment.
However, substantial changes to the subject matter, size, placement, complexity, or overall concept may require additional design time, additional fees, a longer appointment, or rescheduling.
A completely different tattoo concept may be treated as a new project and require a new deposit.
If your vision changes before your appointment, please contact your artist as early as possible.
CUSTOM ARTWORK
Original tattoo designs created by Venom & Bloom artists remain the intellectual property of the individual artist unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Artwork may not be copied, reproduced, tattooed by another artist, sold, distributed, or used commercially without the artist’s permission.
Payment of a tattoo deposit does not constitute the purchase or transfer of intellectual property rights to the artwork.
Reference images are welcome, but our artists prioritize original designs rather than directly copying another tattoo artist’s work.
FLASH TATTOOS
Available tattoo flash designs can be viewed on the Venom & Bloom website.
To claim a flash design, clients must complete our Request a Tattoo form.
Please include the name, design number, or screenshot of the flash you would like to claim and select the appropriate artist when possible.
The artist will contact you directly by email or text to confirm availability, discuss placement and sizing, assist with scheduling, and provide deposit instructions.
A flash design is not officially claimed or reserved until your artist has confirmed availability and received the required deposit.
Flash availability, exclusivity, and repeatability vary by artist and collection.
Some designs are one-of-a-kind and retired once claimed, while others may be offered as repeatable flash.
Your artist will clarify any design-specific restrictions before booking.
PRICING
Tattoo pricing varies based on the artist, size, placement, style, complexity, level of detail, and estimated tattooing time.
Because many Venom & Bloom tattoos are custom-designed, pricing is determined individually after your artist reviews your request.
Your artist will discuss pricing and scheduling with you before collecting your deposit.
Quotes are estimates unless explicitly provided as a fixed price.
Changes to the original design or scope may affect the final cost.
Please communicate any budget considerations during the tattoo request process so your artist can recommend an appropriate design, size, and session structure.
PAYMENT
Your artist will provide payment instructions when your appointment is scheduled.
Deposits are typically collected through a secure payment link, although Zelle or Venmo may be accepted when authorized by the artist.
Accepted payment methods for tattoo appointments may vary by artist and generally include credit or debit cards (applicable processing fees may apply), Zelle, Venmo, and cash.
The remaining balance is due at the time of your tattoo appointment.
Venom & Bloom does not currently offer payment plans or financing.
Larger tattoos may be scheduled across multiple appointments, with payment arrangements for individual sessions discussed directly with your artist.
Tips are always appreciated but never required.
AGE & IDENTIFICATION
All tattoo clients must be at least 18 years of age.
A valid government-issued photo ID is required at your appointment.
Venom & Bloom reserves the right to refuse service when appropriate identification or legally required documentation cannot be provided.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Your health and safety are important to us.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information regarding relevant health conditions, allergies, medications, skin conditions, and other circumstances that could affect tattooing or healing.
Please contact your artist before your appointment if you are experiencing illness, contagious symptoms, active skin irritation, a rash near the tattoo area, or another condition that could interfere with the safety of your appointment.
Our artists follow professional sanitation, infection-control, and tattoo safety practices.
Venom & Bloom reserves the right to postpone or decline a tattoo when proceeding could create an unreasonable health or safety concern.
INTOXICATION
We will not tattoo anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
If your artist determines that you cannot safely or legally consent to the procedure, your appointment will be cancelled and your deposit may be forfeited.
PRIVACY & COMFORT
Venom & Bloom is a private, appointment-only tattoo studio thoughtfully designed with client comfort, safety, and privacy in mind.
We welcome clients of all genders and believe everyone deserves a respectful tattoo experience.
You are always encouraged to communicate your boundaries, ask questions, request breaks, or ask your artist to explain any part of the tattooing process.
For tattoos involving breasts, sternum, hips, buttocks, or other intimate areas, appropriate privacy and draping measures will be used.
Consent is ongoing throughout your appointment, and you may ask your artist to stop at any time.
Your comfort matters. Always.
PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA
Our artists may request permission to photograph or record completed tattoos for portfolios, our website, social media, educational content, or promotional materials.
Please let your artist know if you do not want your face or identifying features included.
If you prefer that your tattoo not be photographed or shared, please communicate this with your artist.
We respect your preferences regarding photography and identifiable content.
Your comfort matters more than content.
DATA SHARING
• Customer data is not shared with 3rd parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
• Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.

CHILDREN & GUESTS
To maintain a safe, comfortable, and focused tattooing environment, please do not bring children to appointments unless arrangements have been discussed and approved by the studio in advance.
Guests may be limited depending on the artist, appointment, procedure, and available studio space.
If you would like to bring a support person, please discuss this with your artist before your appointment.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
Venom & Bloom and its artists reserve the right to decline a tattoo or discontinue an appointment when necessary for health, safety, consent, professional boundaries, inappropriate conduct, abusive behavior, or circumstances that make performing the service unsafe or unreasonable.
Our artists also reserve the right to decline designs or subject matter they are personally or professionally uncomfortable tattooing.
We do not tolerate harassment, threats, discriminatory conduct, or inappropriate behavior toward artists, staff, clients, or guests.
All decisions regarding service will be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Being kind to your artist and everyone else in the studio is not optional.
TOUCH-UPS
Touch-up policies vary by artist and tattoo.
If you believe your tattoo requires a touch-up, please allow it to heal completely, typically at least 4–6 weeks, before contacting your artist.
Include clear photographs of the healed tattoo taken in natural lighting so your artist can evaluate the area.
Complimentary touch-ups, when offered, generally address small areas where pigment did not heal as expected.
Touch-ups resulting from improper aftercare, excessive sun exposure, picking, scratching, injury, significant changes to the tattoo, or normal fading in high-wear areas may incur an additional fee.
Your artist will determine whether a touch-up is appropriate and discuss any applicable charges before scheduling.
HEALED RESULTS
Every person’s skin and healing process is different.
Our artists provide professional tattoo application and individualized aftercare guidance, but healed results can be influenced by skin type, health, lifestyle, placement, sun exposure, medications, aftercare, and other factors outside the artist’s control.
Fine line tattoos, microrealism, and highly detailed work require particular consideration regarding placement, size, spacing, and long-term readability.
Following your artist’s aftercare instructions is essential to supporting proper healing and preserving your tattoo.
RESPECT GOES BOTH WAYS
Venom & Bloom is committed to providing a professional, welcoming environment where clients and artists feel safe, comfortable, and respected.
Harassment, discriminatory behavior, threats, sexual misconduct, aggressive conduct, or repeated disrespect toward artists, staff, clients, or guests will not be tolerated.
We believe the best tattoo experiences happen when creativity, communication, and mutual respect come together.
Basically:
Be cool. We’ll be cool. Let’s make something beautiful.
